In researching transmission shops near my home in Arlington I came across 1385 Transmission Repair. They are one of the few area shops that are certified to work on Nissan CVTs. They offered a very reasonable price that included free towing within 50 (or 100) miles, lifetime warranty, and the repair would not just rebuild the transmission but would also incorporate any manufacturer upgrades that applied to my vehicle model. My experience with this shop could not have been more positve, both in the results of the rebuild and in how I was treated! Even better they allowed me to see the old transmission that was rebuilt plus, in my case, the torque converter and mounts needed replacing. I was able to visually inspect these and I was only charged for the cost of the parts! The cost was in line with what I would have paid had I bought them. Finally, after having driven the car for a couple of weeks or so I noticed that the car would vibrate during certain speed ranges. I took the car back to the shop and a couple of the mechanics test drove the vehicle to see if the cause of the vibration was related to the transmission re-build. Turns out it wasn't - it was the CVC Joint. The shop offered me a quote to fix the issue and I was amazed at how reasonable the cost was! Throughout this whole ordeal the shop personnel were courteous and very professional. Word to the wise though: If you are accustomed to plush repair shops with waiting rooms with TVs, chairs, complimentary coffee/drinks, etc. you won't find that here.
